Many players have enjoyed playing online poker and for the most part view the online experience in the same manner as a live game. However, it is apparent that an online poker game is quite different than a live game. In fact, many players question is Pokerstars rigged? If not, why do so many constant bad beats occur online?
PokerStars as well as many other online pokersites, use a series of certain computer codes to determine many facets of the game. These Pokerstars codes (also known as algorithms and mathematical functions) use advanced technology to shuffle, deal out cards, and make determinations on the flop, river, and turn.
Many players unwittingly play online in the same manner as they do live, simply because they are convinced that the online game follows the same statistical odds as a live game. This assumption is far from accurate due in large part to the limitations of a computer-generated program and the attempt by pokersites to try and level the field with advanced codes.
Poker Algorithms
In other words, sites such as PokerStars will try to maintain an environment wherein everyone has an equal chance of winning without regard to skill or playing ability. They accomplish this by using advanced poker algorithms (the Pokerstars code) to skew the statistical odds of a hand and produce action inducing and draw-heavy boards.
Those results will encourage less experienced and less disciplined players to gamble and take chances to chase their draws in hopes of winning the pot. The excitement of winning a pot further encourages these players to continue chasing and soon it becomes a part of their style.
The Thrill Factor
While they may win one or two pots and occasionally even succeed in cashing, the thrill of sucking out on another player is psychologically a huge boost to their ego and gives a false sense that they are good players. This further results in that player continuing to deposit money into the poker site in an effort to repeat the event that gave them so much pleasure. Soon, it becomes a sort of addiction for these losing players to continue to attempt to win in that same style.
Nevertheless, in the long run, it only produces huge losses both for that player and the many players that fell victim to his bad beats. The only true winner in the game is the poker site, because of the rake they charge.
The Solution
Of course, there is a solution to beating the PokerStars code, and that solution is to use a ‘fight fire with fire’ approach; use the same code against your opponents that Pokerstars uses to determine winning hands and outcomes. It is obvious to anyone that has played online poker for an extended period, that the true statistical odds are not accurate online, and because of this, one must learn the Pokerstars code and how to beat it.
